i really dislike anything mac - there is a lot hype to it. but it’s NOT user friendly. not compatible with many useful programs. and amazingly slow when compared to a pc. i earnestly urge you to buy a pc instead if you are considering buying a computer unless you are a computer expert

Sorry..
Macs, in general, are not my cup of tea it seems, since it requires getting use to an OS that is based on Unix and not as “user-friendly” as PC architecture..and just as slow.
Okay, so the icons are bigger and prettier than a PC but try finding a quick way of changing your desktop Backround picture or configure a wireless router or install a printer (some things a PC does quite easy) you have to discover where these things are “hidden” within the system…do I go to Finder, or is it in Applications, or is it in a Folder in System Preferences?
Hey, at least I brought the thing and gave it a fair “try out” (not bash it without even trying, right?) for all the “problems” people cry about with PC’s, you can get where you need too go and get something accomplished, not have to sit down and type or Skype some other Mac user who will probably snicker at your problem before helping and I REALLY don’t like to be forced into buying a “specific” keyboard (wafer-thin and flat) to do the most basics of tasks, like ejecting a CD/DVD from inside this thing OR having to “drag n drop” an icon into the trashbin/ejection bin just to get the disk to come out!
Geez, I guess this debate could continue for quite a few sentences longer, but let me finally just say this…don’t buy a Mac product because of advertising/peer pressure since it will be just you “alone at home” struggling to Learn how to operate in MacOS and find yourself longing for the simple and faster environs of a PC…

A problem with the 1gb Imac and the Mac Mini (but not the Macbook, I am told) is folders.
You set your folder with small icons, hiding the toolbar. You come back later, the toolbar is back, the icons are now large, falling all over each other like poker chips — or, your icons have turned into a list.
You patiently put it back the way you had it, and you click the button that says “Always open in icon view.”
You come back later — the folder has gone crazy again. The toolbar is back, the icons have become a list, the icons are too big — something.
You end up sighing ten times a day as you use the computer.
Very annoying.

I have always used macs because they have the most sophisticated and user friendly operating system available. The problem is that most of their stuff is overpriced. One exception is the mac mini which gives you a lot of computer for the money. It is all the computer that most people will ever need. Now that the latest model takes up to 4 GB of ram, it is even a better. It’s compact size is also a plus. I don’t like the i-mac and the Mac pro is too much computer for most people. It would be nice if Apple would come out with a mini tower as an alternative to the i-mac. Also I would like to see Apple produce a net book for 300 or 400 dollars. As it stands right now if want a net book then you have to put up with an inferior Windows operating system. Of course Apple is making a lot money selling a bunch of overpriced toys that in a few years will be obsolete. In contrast the mac mini is a good solid value.
